Research Of my Genre

These are the two movies I decided to research on Palm springs and Hubie halloween. They are both mystery comedies. 


Hubie Halloween opening scene was 1 minute and 27 seconds, and Palm springs opening scene was 2 minutes and 49 seconds.

The amount of shots for palm springs were 15 because the scenes were more longer. Hubie Halloween had 17 shots because there shots were more quicker and they were utilizing a lot more camera angles than palm springs.

For the opening of Hubie it took place at a mental hospital, because as soon as the cuts right to the next shot it say right on the mental hospital maximum security. and then there's another scene where it shows the patient get away. So you can clearly see that there will be a mystery and that they need to find out where the patient can be. It also had very suspenseful music.
For the opening of Palm springs took place in the dessert somewhere, it actually looked like they were on vacation but they were up there for there friends wedding. From the opening scene it might not look like a mystery movie but it actually is. The movie is about the couple who were going to there friend wedding discovered that they were in a time loop and they had to find clues to get out of it

Most of the Mystery movies titles have different fonts, style, and size but one they thing they all have is the victim on there cover to show who the main conflict is about.

People who likes to solve problems likes mystery movies. So we can advertise it by showing the victim in distress trying to find the clues, and hopefully it will captivate the viewers intention

Stereotype, Portrayed
The central character must be a detective who eventually solves the mystery by logical deduction from facts fairly presented to the reader. This classic structure is the basis for hundreds of variations on the form. And if they are not a detective they are a victim who the mystery has happened to and they need to find out the person who is trying to kill them, or do harm to them. They are usually not believed by there Family.



Shot by shot

Hubie Halloween

Shot 1: you can see them in some sort of prison like area


Shot 2: The next scene you can see there in a hospital because it shows maximum hospital security


Shot 3: Next shot you can see someone pushing a cart


Shot 4: Quickly pans up and shows hotdogs and gelonin


Shot 5: It quickly cuts right to the next shot of the door of the hospital 


Shot 6: It shows the two holes at the top where they see the prisoner


Shot 7: It shows inside the cell


Shot 8: Shows the guard coming in


Shot 9: Shows the officer looking at the patient sleeping


Shot 10:  Shows the guard kicking the patient to wake him up 


Shot 11: It goes back to the guards POV  it shows the patient wiggling like jelly


Shot 12: Cuts back to the viewers POV


Shot 13: The guard picks up the blanket and sees the patient is not there 


Shot 14: Shows the guard looks shocked


Shot 15: He looks around and sees that he escaped from the window


Shot 16: Shows him alerting the guards


Shot 17: Shows the patient walking out
